Keeping a kiln firing log

I am going to do my best to keep a kiln firing log.

My kiln is a 13amp plug in top loader called Little Chief. You may find this post useful if you are considering buying the same kiln.

Stoneware glazes used:
- Lagoon Blue (2 blue cups)
- Burnt Olive (1 brown cup)
- Oxide Green (1 plant pot)
- Reactive White * Lagoon Blue (1 blue tall vase)
- Reactive White * Rusty Mottle (1 brown tall vase)
Buff stoneware clay from Commercial Clay
VitraClay White Throwing Clay (2 smallest cups)
Programme = Normal speed (mid) but with 20 min soak instead of 40 mins
Max temperature went up to 1222°C during soak (for a short period time)
Some unwanted bubbles on the brown tall vase but 20 min soak produced better result than firing #12 and #13
Reactive White (inside) * Lagoon Blue (outside) on Buff clay is 👍 (4th photo)
Rusty Mottle came out more like brown this time

Stoneware glazes used:
- Reactive White * Burnt Olive (1 plant pot)
- Reactive White * Rusty Mottle (1 round vase)
- Burnt Olive (6 vases)
- Oxide Green (3 vases)

Programme = Normal speed (mid)
A LOT less bubbles 👍
Very noticeable glaze blistering with Burnt Olive (mostly at neck and inside foot ring) 👎
TODO = reduce soaking time from 40 to 20 minutes next time 📝

- Rusty Mottle on outside (8 cups)
- Burnt Olive on outside (4 cups)
- Oxide Green on outside (12 cups)

Programme = Normal speed (high)
Most pots bubbled 😭 (MUST try Normal speed (mid) next)
Rusty Mottle produced the most consistent results (even with different clay types)
Burnt Olive on White Throwing Clay could potentially be one of my favourites

Dipping bigger pots was tricky (dip bottom half -> dry -> dip top half -> brush glaze on missed bits)

Good to see Oxide Green reacting to textures added at turning stage 👍
Some pots bubbled badly, especially those with Rusty Mottle and Burnt Olive 🤔
Some pinholes and blisters on pots with Oxide Green 🤔
